Winter on the Ice
Half-day, full-day, and overnight ice trips. All equipment and a dedicated guide included—you show up, we handle the rest.
Reserve a tripWhy Fish Through the Ice
When the lakes freeze over, the fish stay put—and so do we. Ice fishing puts you directly above the same species you’d chase in summer, but with a quieter, more focused pace and no boat required.
Our winter trips run only when the ice is thick enough and conditions are safe. You get a dedicated guide, heated shelter when you want it, and the chance to land fish through a hole in the ice.
Trip Lengths
Morning sessions, full days, or a night on the lake—pick the option that fits your schedule and ambition.
Morning on the ice
A single session on the ice: drill a hole, drop a line, and learn the basics. Ideal if you have limited time or want a first taste before committing to a full day.

Full-day ice camp
From setup to pack-down. We move to several spots, use sonar to find fish, and break for a hot meal on the ice. Best for those who want a full winter day without an overnight.

Overnight on the lake
Fish into the evening and sleep in a heated cabin on or near the ice. Next morning you’re already on the spot. For those who want to go all-in on a winter outing.

1. Read the flasher
Our sonar units show depth and fish activity under the ice. Your guide will help you interpret the screen so you know when to expect a bite.
2. Vary your jig rhythm
A steady lift-and-drop or small twitches often outfish a motionless lure. Cold-water fish respond to movement; your guide will suggest a rhythm that works for the day.
3. Try another hole
If one spot is slow, we drill elsewhere. Fish move under the ice; relocating a short distance can put you right on top of them.
4. Keep hands and feet warm
Cold fingers make handling line and tackle harder. Use the shelters when you need to warm up, and bring the boots and gloves we recommend in your confirmation.
Included in Every Trip
No need to own an auger or rods. Every ice trip comes with the tools and shelter we use on the lake; you focus on fishing and staying warm.
- Augers—motorized and hand-powered—so we can open holes in the ice at each spot.
- Portable shelters and heaters so you can warm up without leaving the ice.
- Ice rods, reels, and tackle suited to the species we target in winter.
- Flasher-style sonar so we can see depth and fish under the hole.
- Jigs, spoons, and bait that work in cold water—no need to bring your own.
From Ice to Water
The first step on every trip is cutting through the ice. Our guides run the auger and show you how we check thickness and choose a safe spot. You can try drilling a hole yourself if you like.
Ice depth varies through the season. We only go out when the layer is sufficient, and we keep an eye on conditions so your day is both productive and safe.
What You Might Land
Through the ice we target the same strong, cold-water species that thrive in the lake year-round. A solid pull on the line can mean a sizeable fish—your guide will help you work it through the hole and handle release or keep for the table.
Every catch is different. We focus on technique, location, and timing so you have the best chance of a memorable fish and a great story to take home.
How We Keep You Safe
We only run trips when the ice and weather are within our safety limits. Our team checks conditions and is trained to respond if anything changes during the day.
Ice conditions
We measure ice thickness and quality before setting up. Trips are adjusted or rescheduled if conditions are not suitable.
Trained guides
Guides carry first-aid and cold-weather gear and know how to handle minor incidents and when to call for help.
Communication
We use reliable comms and check-in procedures so we can coordinate with base and emergency services if needed.
